Closeup of the Time of Travel experiment.
A laser pulse leaves the diode (top) and is split by the semi-mirror (center). Half the pulse travels to the left detector and half continues straight, leaves the picture (bottom), bounces off a mirror (off picture) and returns to the right detector. The delay between the two pulse halfs is measured on an oscilloscope (off screen). This delay divided by twice the mirror distance is the c, the speed of light.
